28th Annual Children's Christmas Store
Since 1995, New Image has sponsored the Annual Children’s Christmas Store, realizing that without the toys, gifts, shoes, and supermarket gift cards provided by this program, several homeless and low-low income families with children, would not be able to celebrate the holidays. Homelessness is a traumatic experience for a child, especially experiencing homeless during the holidays because they often feel disconnected from their homes, family, friends, and the broader community. Therefore, New Image works hard to make this, a day they will never forget.
This holiday season help us provide another loving, fun-filled, memorable Christmas to the children of homeless and low-income families, who without your help, would struggle to have a Christmas dinner, and provide gifts to their children. It is our goal to serve a minimum of 680 families and over 1,800 children this year.
New Image Emergency Shelter for the Homeless, Inc. (New Image) will host its 26th Annual Children’s Christmas Store which provides toys, shoes, clothing, and supermarket gift cards, to more than 2,000 children of homeless and low-income families, during the Christmas Season.
The Children’s Christmas Store is designed to assist families who are living in poverty and may include: single Heads of Household (both men and women) who are homeless; who are unemployed; children and/or adults in families with medical challenges e.g.: cancer, strokes, dialysis, etc.; families of domestic violence; families that have moved into permanent housing and have no funds for Christmas needs due to payment of the first and last month’s rent, and security deposit; numerous families that receive public aid, and/or are making minimum wage; grandparents who are raising grand-children on a limited fixed income; and those have been affected by Covid-19. The Children’s Christmas Store provides the following:
• Toys & gifts (children ages newborn-17 years of age).
• A pair of shoes
• Supermarket Gift Cards (for families of 6+ to assist with food purchases for Christmas Dinner).
• Refreshments (holiday cookies and a beverage).
• A picture opportunity with Santa (following CDC/Covid-19 Protocol).
